Holiday Wishlist

Holiday Wishlist- Paint the Gown Red

I called this a holiday wishlist because of the sheer volume of holidays coming up. Saturday I’m celebrating my Birthday (and Hanukkah) with my family and next week it’s Christmas with Nick’s family. Everything has kind of merged into one large holiday this year. But it’s not the first year my birthday cake will have a menorah on it. Some people get really offended when their birthday overlaps with other holidays, but I’m totally and completely ok with it. It’s basically going to be a week long party. How could I possibly be upset about that?! These are a few things I’ve been wishing for. We’ll see if my mama caught the not so subtle hints.

November Wishlist

It’s getting to be that gift-giving time of year, and I’m pretty gosh darn excited about it. Sure, everyone loves to receive. Especially when you grew up in a family that celebrated Hanukkah AND Christmas with your birthday sandwiched between the two. Yeah, December is my month. But to me, the best part of the holiday season is giving awesome gifts. I like to channel Leslie Knope when I give. I play a little game with myself to figure out the perfect present. Its a small obsession, and I love it. So here’s a wishlist to start you off this season. Aren’t those pom-pom pumps incredible? I’m a size 9.

Spooky Halloween Wishlist

Let’s pretend for a moment that I’m not crazy obsessed with costumes. That I don’t bring boas and birthday hats with me everywhere I go just in case. That I don’t begin planning next years costume the day after Halloween and have it ready weeks in advance. There are lots of totally normal people out there like this. People who just don’t want to get super dressed up on Halloween. And you know what, I get it. Halloween is a major ordeal. If you’re stuck in limbo between being too old to trick-or-treat and too young to have anyone to take trick-or-treating, it can seem a little pointless. Unless you’re lucky enough to have a Hocus Pocus style ball to attend, in which case you have no excuse- you must dress up! But everyone else, this spooky wishlist is for you. I love these pieces because they can be worn again and again! They’re subtle enough to wear year round but creepy enough to substitute for a costume on Halloween. You’re welcome! Is it weird that I want to live inside that wolf coat?´

September Wishlist

September Wishlist - Paint the Gown Red

I am totally digging these fall colors right now. Hooray! I’m finally starting to get excited to wear jackets, tights, boots and scarves. Unfortunately, I’m not so sure when that day will come. Though it’s technically fall, you wouldn’t be able to tell here in socal. It has been hotter then it was all summer this part week! So until it cools down, this is really a wishlist. You couldn’t pay me to put on a jacket. I’m feeling very envious of people in cooler climates today…that might not last very long.

Back to School Wishlist

So apparently people are going back to school. I’m okay with that. The beaches have been pretty darn crowded. Just don’t tell Summer, please. Really, it’s far too sunny and beautiful out to say goodbye to the season just yet. So I wont! I will say that my opinion might be different if I were still in college. I’d totally let summer end if it meant I could go back to the days of limited responsibility. This would be my wishlist if I were going back to school… and really what I’m pining over regardless. The Clueless inspired set really gets me. And that vintage fridge lunchbox.
