Sometimes when you’re having a meh week, you need something to help turn things around. For me, that something usually comes in the form of dessert. So today I’m sharing some delicious desserts made from breakfast foods. Logically, these can all be eaten for breakfast, right? Take THAT hump day! I’m feeling much better today and will be finishing up projects to post while I’m away. Guys, I’m getting so excited for our adventure! If any of you have any Oregon recommendations let me know! We’ll be heading up through central Oregon and then taking the coast all the way home. And we’ll only have 24 hours in Portland. 24 hours! Are we nuts? Jury's still out… Check out my Pinterest for more Pinspiration!
String lights. One of my favorite outdoor features. I have always wanted them in my backyard. In our old apartment I tried to no avail to hang them on our patio. Each time they lasted only a few days before crashing down to the ground. Nothing sticks to concrete. When we moved I knew I needed a place to accommodate my lights. The courtyard at our current apartment is a huge reason why we moved here. Not only are there string lights hanging outside my window every night, I don’t have to maintain them! It’s a dream come true, I tell you. Even though I have them now, I still like looking at string light inspiration. Someday I’ll have an event, wedding or backyard that’ll need string lights, and I want to be prepared. Check out my Pinterest page for more like this!
Whenever I come back from a trip spent mostly outdoors I go through a little withdrawal period. I miss drinking coffee on the porch staring out at the world. Watching birds fly between trees as the sun rises over the mountains. Being surrounded by nature, the smell, sound and feel of it. It’s beautiful and calm. Coming home to the city, even though we live in a pretty spot by the beach, is just not the same. I’ve always preferred mountains to beach. Grass is always greener. Whenever I feel like this, I’m inspired to find ways to fix it. The solution: bring the outside in. I’m very proud of our two houseplants that I’ve managed to keep alive for a few months now, but our home still feels like it’s missing something. Maybe a Philodendron hanging from the bookcase, a small succulent garden on the vanity or a vertical herb garden in the kitchen. All of these spaces are so full of texture and life! I want that. I think I can handle a few more plants. What do you think?
Last night I was woken up at 3am by a car alarm. No bueno. Needless to say, my brain is fried. This would be ok if I could spend my day in one of these photos, lounging on a beach somewhere. But unfortunately I have a ton of work to do today! So, I will have to survive on super tea. May even break the glass to my emergency coffee. But if I keep in mind these sunny days in tropical places, everything will be alright. Check out my Pinterest page for more pretty places.
Good morning everyone! Hope your week’s off to a lovely start! I’ve been struggling to plan my 4th of July menu over here. There are too many yummy things to make! Should I bake a pie or a berry shortcake? Both? No, not both. That’s too much food. Sadly we’re not having a party this year. Our apartment essentially gets blocked off for festivities down the street. I’m really excited to walk around and see how our new neighborhood celebrates one of my favorite holidays, but wish our friends and family could come. Next year! Here are some delicious treats to help confuse you too. How do you choose your menu? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
