This is how I feel today. Totally wiped out. It’s as if I was gobbled up by a rapid, spun around a few times and spit out, bonking my head in the process. Makes sense. That’s exactly what happened. These photos we’re taken of Nick and I, kayaking through the biggest rapid on our rafting adventure last week. That’s my oh crap face. The rapid is called Hell Hole and it’s quite accurately named; you legit fall into a hole and feel like Hell afterwards. Ok not always. But when in a kayak, you have a good 85% chance of falling out on this run. We went through twice, once successfully, once not so much. I much preferred the former. Please enjoy these hilarious blooper shots while I try to recover from my week of summer camp for grownups.

I know what you’re thinking. Woah. That’s a boatload of photos. Generally I’m a pretty considerate editor. I try not to inundate you with a zillion slightly different but also the same, images. But today’s kind of an exception because, well, look at this place! Seriously. LOOK AT IT. Could you really edit any of these out? Having already excluded hundreds, I just couldn’t. Hopefully you enjoy them as much as I do.

Our nature retreat last month was such a lovely adventure. It was my third time visiting Zion and my first at Bryce. Zion is beautiful and will always have a spot in my heart as the first National Park I visited as I tween. But Zion in the Spring was a new and wonderful experience. Everything around us was alive and blooming. Looking up we saw vibrant shades of green and down, little pink, white and yellow flowers sprouted from the sandstone.

Zion was stunning, but Bryce was truly spectacular. Just when you think rocks couldn’t get any stranger, they do. Though we had to drive two hours from Zion to get to Bryce is was so incredibly worth it. You should go to there. We experienced the most dramatic weather ever hiking around Bryce. We were hot and sweaty as we climbed up the canyon, and freezing our butts off at the peak, trekking through patches of snow! Crazy weather fit for a crazy place. Also... chipmunks!
