DIY Pretzel Cupcake Toppers

DIY Pretzel Cupcake Toppers - Paint the Gown Red

Every once and a while I make something that comes out exactly how I imagined. These are rare and special moments as finished products are almost always adapted in some way. So when dream actually becomes reality, I get a little excited. Such is the case with today’s DIY. Guys, I am in love with these pretzels! They’re so perfect and adorable, it’s as if they popped right out of the Tootsie Roll wrapper….and they might as well have. Each one takes less than a minute to make! Bound to be the highlight of that Summer carnival party you’re throwing. Ready to roll?!

In preparation for Donut Day tomorrow, I decided to whip up some fun and colorful treats for you. Introducing, pixie dust donuts! Pixie dust candy looks identical to typical sprinkles but will add flavor as well as color to your donuts. Mix and match flavors to see which combinations you prefer. Mine is yellow and pink. It’s almost Memorial Day and Nick and I will be enjoying the long weekend in Stowe, Vermont! We’ve done a lot of road tripping on the West coast but never on this side of the country. It’s crazy how small and close together the states are here. It takes longer to drive from one end of California to the other then it’ll take us to drive through New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and most of Vermont! I’m so excited to cross a bunch of states off my list. As always, if any of you have been or done this drive before, we’d love some recommendations- what interstate to take, places to stop along the way, or fun things to do in and around Stowe. Ok. Enough about me. Do you have anything fun planned? Perhaps a BBQ? If so, I’ve got the perfect pie recipe for ya. How cute are these red white and blue berry hand pies? I cooked up this recipe for eHow in preparation for 4th of July, but realized they’re perfect for any patriotic holiday. So head on over to eHow to get the delish deets!

About a month ago something super exciting happened- I became an eHow contributor! I’ve been a fan of eHow for a long time. Did you see these Rad Dad record cupcake toppers that appeared on eHow last Father’s Day? Well they were actually my brainchild that I helped create with Kelly of Studio DIY. Now, a year later, I’m on the site creating my own content under my own name. Pretty cool. And I couldn’t have done it without you guys. So thanks again for always supporting me and helping me grow. You rock! If you’re new to eHow, it’s a place where you can learn everything from how to throw a Cinco de Mayo fiesta to how to patch a hole in your ceiling. And now you can learn how to decorate macarons to look like sports balls! Say goodbye to boring game day food! I’m so excited to be a part of the magic and will keep you posted when new content goes up. For now, head on over to eHow to check out these bad boys!
