Witch's Brew Sangria for eHow

Witch's Brew Sangria for eHow

Good morning boys and ghouls! Can you believe it’s almost October? Scary. Since everyone is already posting costumes and Halloween treats, I decided to join the party. A few weeks back I cooked up a spooky witch’s brew for eHow. This was such a fun project to work on! I had always wanted to experiment with the dry-ice fog phenomenon…. and I sort of believed it couldn’t really look as cool IRL as in photos. Guess what, these pictures don’t lie! Creating this effect is so simple and so awesome! Get the full scoop over on eHow. Happy Monday!

Pink-Me-Up Cupcakes

Pink-Me-Up Cupcakes- Paint the Gown Red

I had such a bad case of the Mondays that I didn’t even post yesterday. We had a pretty crazy weekend that totally did me in. Saturday we hosted an end of summer BBQ that I had spent most of the previous week preparing for- making tissue paper flowers, baking pina colada cupcakes, painting our DIY corn hole game. I had grand plans of photographing it all for you. I thought I had my whole week of posts lined up. But you see, things didn't exactly work out as planned. Don't get me wrong, the party was amazing! Our home was filled with smiling friends, chatting, playing games and munching on delicious food. All the prep paid off. But as it ALWAYS happens, I didn’t have a chance to document anything.

Whenever I try to merge real life and blog life it usually ends up badly. I try to photograph friend's birthday cakes without taking a slice out or touching it too much...or an event, that I actually want to be at and enjoy. In my experience, it’s best to let those real life events, DIYs and cakes live exclusively in the real world. But it’s a hard thing to do. I put so much work into the party! I have no energy to bake or craft anything right now. Creative burnout. On top of that, Nick and I are leaving Friday for a 10-day road trip around Oregon. Planning, baking, crafting, hosting, cleaning, packing. I’m just tired. So forgive me for the infrequent posting. I’m hoping for a creative boost today to get things back on track. In the meantime, please enjoy these pink-me-up chocolate strawberry cupcakes, recipe on eHow!
