About Me

Arbor Amour

Arbor Amour- Paint the Gown Red

Hello hello! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was lovely. Nick and I ended up spending Saturday at the Fullerton Arboretum- a beautiful little garden about an hour drive from us. We wandered the windy paths through succulent gardens, creeks, and bamboo forests, stopping to snap photos and spot turtles. It was a hot Spring day and I was happy to have a big hat to shield me from the sun. After our stroll we stopped by Rare, a thrift store in Anaheim owned by Goodwill that looks more like an Urban Outfitters. The store is filled with neat art installations made from repurposed materials, like hanging televisions. It was very cool and I highly recommend making the trip if you’re in the LA area. We ended our daycation with beer and games at Noble Ale Works. I know what you’re thinking, you went all the way to Anaheim and didn’t go to Disneyland!? Yep.

Eye on the Pies

Before we move forward to Spring and Easter, lets go back a few days and talk about Pi Day...or what most bakers accurately call it, Pie Day. I’ve never liked math, but I’ll pretend to if it means I can celebrate pie. So that’s exactly what I do every March 14th. I bake pies, eat pies, and this year I wore pies. I was twins for a day with everyone in the world who owns this dress. And it was awesome. Were you one of them?

Cat On Hot Bricks

Another weekend has come and gone. Ours was pretty low-key except for a massive bike ride Saturday. Nick’s a serious biker and commutes to work on one. Lately I’ve been trying to get more into it so we’ve been going on weekend bike adventures. Each weekend we go a little bit further. We might even bike down to San Diego. After training. Are we nuts? Maybe.

In other news, I’ve been kind of living in this Pepa Loves kitten blouse. I love the colorful pattern, collar and frills. It’s also super comfortable. Sadly I can’t say that about many of my outfits. I tend to choose style over comfort. Silly Jamie. This Dear Creatures skirt is another favorite as I’m finding myself in more skirts these days. Its been a little too cold for many of my dresses. It’s like 68 degrees. Freezing, right?

Date Night Hour

Date Night Hour- Paint the Gown Red

I love date nights. Dusting off pretty dresses that are too nice for everyday and getting all fancy. It’s my favorite. I shave my legs, paint my nails and strap on my most uncomfortable pair of heels. The occasional date night I even get my hair did. As you can see, I’m no longer a red head! It was time. Those of you who’ve ever dyed your hair red know how challenging it is to maintain. I was just over it, and ready for a change. I wasn’t really planning on chopping off so much length, but it was one of those hairdresser decisions that you initially want to murder them for and then grow to love. It was chilly and rainy here over the weekend so I got to bust out this fabulous ModCloth coat I snagged over the holidays. It’s only seen the light of day twice but both times has made me feel like a movie star. Pretty coats are another date night necessity, don’t you think? What makes your date nights special?

Now You Sea Me

So, this is where I live now. I’m not even kidding. Our new apartment sits right on the water. The spot is a well kept secret. Nick and I have lived in the area our whole lives and neither of us knew about it. It’s private, quiet, beautiful and I’m pretty sure we’re never leaving. Bonus- it’s the most stunning backdrop for style shoots. This is not the last time you will see this little boardwalk. Promise.

You’re looking at my favorite Christmas present. I am so in love with this ModCloth dress. I mean, how could anyone not be in love with it? Do you see that collar?! It’s the perfect winter in California dress mixing winter colors and fabric with a summer silhouette. Also, it’s 50% off at ModCloth right now. Lucky ducks. Are you ready for a super normal week...because I am! Boxes are unpacked, treats in the oven, and photoshoots planned. I’m totally on top of this week and it’s going to be awesome.
