And Saturday was the kickoff festival! Naturally Nick and I made our way down to Chinatown to get our beer on. There were over 35 craft breweries from all over California set up in the middle of Chinatown Plaza. It was a pretty awesome setting with colorful buildings and swinging red lanterns overhead. The weather was perfect and the crowds totally manageable. Maybe the first time in LA history where the event didn’t oversell tickets. Shocking! We enjoyed special release beers from our favorite breweries and even discovered some new brews. We indulged in a short rib mac and cheese grilled cheese (you heard me) courtesy of The Grilled Cheese Truck. Also, tater tots. Drinking, dancing, eating… pretty great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, don’t you think? There are tons of beer events going on this week but I have such a busy schedule I don’t know if I’ll make it to any. Maybe one or two. Gotta make time for the important things in life.
