Bottoms up! Get ready to pump up your hump day with a tipsy treat! Well…maybe wait until 5 o-clock. Unless you’re on the set of Mad Men, then go for it. This red white and blueberry sangria is delicious and perfect for 4th of July. Top it off with watermelon stars and you have the most patriotic cocktail in America! Heck yeah! How great is that vintage set with the glasses hanging off the bowl? I found it at a thrift store last week and just had to take it home with me. I predict 2014 will be the summer of punch. Yep. It’s going to be sweet.
I see you eyeing those patriotic straws. Guess what?! Tomorrow I'll teach you how to make your own! Uncle Sam’s Straw DIY coming to the blog mañana!
- 1 Medium Seedless Watermelon
- 2 Bottles Dry White Wine
- 1 Cup Triple Sec
- 3/4 Cup Simple Syrup
- 1/4 Cup Lime Juice
Cut Watermelon in half and then into thin slices. Using a cookie cutter, cut out watermelon stars from slices and set aside. Cut remaining watermelon into chunks and puree in a blender. Strain watermelon juice into a large punch bowl. Add wine, Triple Sec, simple syrup and lime juice and stir. Add blueberries and watermelon stars. Chill for at least 3 hours. Serve and enjoy!
